DanBDrReefer Wow, loads of us in the south of the UK - I'm from East Sussex! Maybe we need to organise a DT meetup in London sometime… Anyhow, I discovered the DT podcast recently when Daniele was on one of the TYT shows (The Point I think) and I loved his opinions so much I immediately checked out his podcast (always looking for new things to listen to on my commute). Nearly caught up; I'm on ep.20. I work as a lighting designer. It can be boring sometimes and stressful too, but it has it's perks; I work in a small office with no office-politics, my boss is very understanding and cool about my opinions and lifestyle choice (in ways I'm totally not putting out on the internet) and it's well paid with bonus's and above inflation pay rises the last three years. That last one is important, since the real reason I stick at this is my poorly partner; she has a chronic-pain disorder, so I support her. I go at it with the warrior's mindset, so I see myself like the hired ronin from Zatoichi - I do the job in front of me, though I may not like it, for the good of the one I love. Just hope it doesn't end the same way I got into Taoism after reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (should have been called ‘Tao and the Art..&rsquo, and also a couple of books by the Barefoot Doctor. I always have a copy of the the Tao Te Ching in my bag - a hardcopy of the John CH Wu translation, I like it cause it has the Chinese on one side, the English on the other. I have always been interested in martial arts, but never trained. I am now seriously considering it, though I fear I will find it punishing what with being in my 30s now. I am also interested in sex, drugs, music, and philosophy… as if there were any difference between these things

Hola to all. My name is Robert. I got turned on to DB via the JRE. I love the podcast. I have only listened to a couple of the older episodes but I will soon be devouring the rest. Love and Light, Rob |

Wow this forum is empty. Let's change that. My trail name is Affirm. This year I have embarked on my own self prescribed personal rite of passage. I just turned 25 and I would ideally continue my travels into the next year but I have a ball and chain in the form of student debt that burns a huge hole in my pocket. By the end of September 2014, I should be at the end of my first step to living life. If all goes well, I would have through hiked over 2,100 official miles of the Appalachian Trail. Cheers to taking big steps. If I have enough money leftover, I'll be sure to skip over to Peru for a bit and work on being poor/content for the rest of my life. www.trailjournals.com/affirm
