Hey Everyone,
I'm happy to report that the new Star Trek movie is pretty damn fun. I can't get over what a great job they did recasting the crew. I love how Kirk has strong and shifting opinoins about “drone” attacks. It all works really well and it looks like the next movie will be us getting down to the actual five year mission from the original series, in a wildly new universe. Make sure you are up to date on your Star Trek II with Shatner and Nimoy for best enjoyment. A strong 8.0 out of ten. If JJ treats Star Wars with the same respect he has these Trek movies, we should be in for a treat. Now lets hope this new Superman flick is half as good as the last trailers is making it out to be.

I highly recommend Thunderheart if you have not seen it yet. I watched it back in 93/94 when it came out and every few years since then. Never gets old and is a great movie about a scandal with the FBI on an Indian Res in South Dakota. Stars Val Kilmer as a quarter Indian “Native American Representative” investigating a murder. As the old man says, “Come inside and watch TV”. You have to watch this movie.

If JJ treats Star Wars with the same respect he has these Trek movies, we should be in for a treat.R I don't really want to be the guy that shits on everyone's parade but while the new trek film wasn't a copy of “The Wrath of Khan” it certainly tosses a lot of references back to it. This could be my biased childhood talking but all I really felt at the end was empty and hollow. I would give it a (I think) generous 5.0 out of 10 and recommend everyone giving it a try on netflix in a couple of months. Also you should be afraid for the future of Star Wars very, very afraid. Sorry Rich, but all all lens-flare and lack of plot just killed the fantasy for me. Not to mention Kirk's policy of saving the one person that he happens to know and getting hundreds of faceless drones killed makes him seem less like a leader and more like a dick to me. “Into Darkness” was pretty but seemed to lacking in the “why should I give a damn” department.

Pain and Gain - 7.5/10 Of the all movies that I've seen this month this is by far my favorite. Who would of thought that in a month when the new iron man and star trek come out the movie by Micheal Bay would be my favorite. All I can think is the during last transformers movie I was that I kept rooting for the decepticons to destroy the planet so that I could leave the theater. So I'm at a bit conflicted about what to think about this latest addition to the directors filmography mostly because I actually liked it and would watch it again if given the opportunity.
