If you have ever lost a close loved one (and which one of us hasn't) be sure to take a little time a give our friend Duncan Trussell's interview with his dying mother a listen on the Duncan Trussell Family Hour. It is amazing to listen to his mother facing her rapidly approaching end with some much courage, humor, love and insightfulness. I find it very brave of Duncan to share these unbelievably intimate moments with us all, but I feel certain that he is aware of how helpful these conversations will be for us fellow travelers for years to come. Thanks Duncan!!!!

I absolutely love how Duncan and his Mum approached all this, especially his mum. It's so great to have voices like these freely available and accessible in todays world, putting out these positive messages even when shit gets rough is such a heroic thing to do imo. I wish Duncan and his Mum all the best!

Here's a link to the podcast on Duncans website for any of you who don't know where to find it:

Duncan is the man! Even it didn't lead to gender-confusion, the same could be said of his mom. Truly inspirational

I was really taken with how graceful and calm Duncan's Mom was. The ending, the silent crying, it was all quite beautiful and a reminder of how we need to escape the fear of dying to embrace the joy of living. Thanks to Duncan and his Mom for a very insightful show. Thanks to you guys for leading me to this podcast!

The first interview with his Mum had me choked up. I still haven't listened to this one yet, but I remember thinking how lucky Duncan is to have such an amazing Mum. What a year Mr Trussell has had.

This podcast was truly such a real and heartfelt experience. I know it is one of those things I will listen to often. Deneen Fendig is a truly amazing person, Duncan is a very luck man to have been raised by such a women. Hell I feel lucky just getting a small peek into such an amazing human, Duncan and the whole world truly lost someone great. My heart goes out to the whole family.

Yeah…that episode was sad…but uplifting too. You can tell how at peace his mom was with passing. Sadly, she's now gone. Hope Duncan's doing ok. Actually…he JUST posted a new podcast…with guess who? Daniele!

But yeah…the part at the end of the episode where Duncan says “Thank you…*pause*…for everything.” And you can hear where he's holding back the tears…man, that got to me.

My own mom and I have a great relationship and will have hours long discussions of a similar nature. If…or rather when…I lose her…I'll be devastated. Only hope I can handle it as well as Duncan has been…
